Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Pritrek ("the app", "we") does with your data. The short version: your trips and invoices stay on your phone. Pritrek has no server of its own, no advertising and no analytics.
1. Who is responsible and how to reach us
Pritrek is published by an independent developer. The developer's name and country are shown on Pritrek's Google Play page. For any question about your data, write to pritrek@thymoria.net.
2. What the app handles
Pritrek records your trips. The following stays on your device:
- Your location trail: GPS positions with their times. Pritrek takes a position every few minutes (more often if you choose High accuracy), in the background and even when the app is closed or not in use, both to notice when a drive starts and to record it once one has; positions taken before a drive starts are not saved as a trip unless a drive begins. That is how trips are recorded without you keeping the app open. Android shows a notification while Pritrek is running in the background.
- Stops along a trip, and the place names found for them.
- Tags you create and apply to trips, to label their purpose (for example, Business or Private).
- Vehicles you add, and the odometer readings you enter.
- Invoices you record: the amount, currency, date, type and note, and the vehicle you link to.
- Invoice attachments. An invoice can have one attachment: a photo you take with the camera, or an image or PDF file you choose. Pritrek uses the camera only when you tap "Take a photo" on an invoice, and asks for the camera permission at that moment. It has no access to your photo library or your files other than the single file you pick in the system picker. Pritrek keeps its own copy of the photo or file.
- App settings, such as your language, distance unit and recording intervals.
- Your Google account's ID, email address and name, which Google gives the app when you sign in. They keep each account's trips apart on the device and show who is signed in.
All of this is stored inside the app's private storage on your device: the data in a database, and the invoice attachments as files. Other apps cannot read it.
3. What leaves your device, and why
Only the following leaves your device, each for one purpose:
- Place names. To name a stop, the app sends that stop's coordinates, one stop at a time and never the whole trail, to your device's map service: Google on Android, Apple on iOS. Their privacy policies apply to that request.
- Maps. The map is drawn with Google Maps. When a map is shown, Google receives the area being viewed, your device's IP address and technical information such as the device model, operating system version and crash reports, as with any use of Google Maps. The Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) applies.
- Google sign-in. Pritrek asks you to sign in with a Google account before you use it. Google handles the sign-in and tells the app your account's ID, email address and name; they stay on your device and are never sent to the developer. The Google Privacy Policy applies to the sign-in.
- Google Drive backup. If you connect Google Drive, a copy of your trips, stops, vehicles, odometer readings, tags, invoices and app settings is uploaded once a day, and whenever you tap "Back up now", to a hidden app folder of your own Google Drive that only Pritrek can open. Your invoice attachments (photos and PDF files) are uploaded to the same folder, each as a separate file. The newest 5 copies of your data are kept and older ones are deleted; attachment files are not deleted automatically. If you set a backup password, each copy and each attachment is encrypted on your phone before it is uploaded. The developer never receives any backup or attachment. If you do not connect Google Drive, nothing is sent to it.
- Sharing invoices. If you export invoices, Pritrek hands the files, including original attachments, to your device's share sheet. They go only to the app or place you choose there, and the developer receives nothing.
Pritrek contains no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting service of its own, and it does not sell your data or share it for advertising. If you allow it in your Google Play settings, Google Play may collect its own usage and crash statistics about the app; that is between you and Google.
4. Why we handle your data, and on what basis
Location is used only to record your trips, draw the route and add up distance: that is the service you asked for. The camera is used only to photograph an invoice when you tap "Take a photo"; the system asks for your permission at that moment, and if you refuse, or later turn the camera off in your device's settings, you can still choose an image or a PDF file instead. We ask for your consent before the location permission prompts. When you tap "Agree and continue" on the first screen and then allow location in the system dialogs, you consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time by turning off location for Pritrek in your device's settings; the app then stops recording. Withdrawing does not affect what was recorded before. Where the law asks for a legal basis, it is your consent and, for the parts needed to provide the service you asked for, the performance of that service.
5. How long data is kept
Trips, vehicles, odometer readings, invoices and their attachments stay on your device until you delete them, uninstall the app, or clear its storage; each of these removes them for good. The data of each Google account is kept separately on the device. Signing out leaves it there for the next time you sign in with that account; Settings → Account → Delete local data removes it. Backups, and the invoice attachments uploaded with them, stay in your Google Drive until you delete them, either in the app under Settings → Backup → Delete all Drive backups or in your Google Drive settings under hidden app data. Uninstalling the app, signing out or removing its access to your Google account does not delete them.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR (European Economic Area and United Kingdom) and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights to access, correct, delete and export your data, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because your data is on your own device, you can already exercise these rights yourself: view and edit trips, vehicles, readings and invoices in the app, delete them, or uninstall the app. If you would like a copy of your data or any other help, write to pritrek@thymoria.net and we will reply within one month. We do not sell personal information.
7. Children
Pritrek is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the European Economic Area), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used the app, write to pritrek@thymoria.net.
8. Security
Your data is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read, and every connection the app makes (map tiles, place-name lookup, backup, attachments) is encrypted in transit. If you set a backup password, each backup and attachment is encrypted on your phone with AES-256-GCM under a key derived from that password before it is uploaded, so the copy in Google Drive cannot be read without the password. The password is not stored anywhere outside your phone, and nobody, including the developer, can recover it. A backup without a password is protected by the security of your Google account. No system is perfectly secure. If your phone has no screen lock, anyone who can use the phone can open the app.
9. International transfers
Pritrek has no server, so it does not transfer data between countries itself. Google, whose services the app uses as described in section 3, may process data in several countries under its own policies and safeguards.
10. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change affects how your data is handled in a way that needs your consent, the app asks you again. The current version is always at the address you opened. This policy is published in English only. The app itself, including the location notice you see before it asks for permission, is shown in your language.
